A Message from Your Beta Rho President
Welcome to the 2020-2022 Biennium!
Beta Rho Chapter of DKG
Welcome to the 2020 -2022 Biennium! I am humbled and proud to be your president again and thank you for your support and confidence in my ability to lead you in this interesting and challenging biennium. The commitment and involvement of the Executive Board and our faithful members will make my job so much easier. We are a wonderful group of women who are devoted to working together!
I have chosen the theme of "Sharing the Interests and Talents of our Beta Rho Sisters" for our new biennium. We have such talent and expertise among our chapter members and we will be highlighting that. I feel you will be very impressed with the programs and activities our EEC Chairman, Pat Carpenter, and our Executive Board have planned. It will be exciting to learn new things that will be helpful in teaching and in your personal lives. Please look in your binder pages for the plan for the biennium and how you may be involved in that.
For our teachers, you have been asked to dig deep into your beings to be make your teaching as creative, flexible, meaningful and relevant as we navigated the confusing Covid 19 restrictions. Despite each day being so different, you plan for, teach and evaluate your teaching in spite of the confusion of navigating a whole new virtual or in person existence in your classroom or at home. You have shown us by your resilience, creativity and commitment that you are capable of great things. I am confident that you all will survive and thrive. Thank you! For all of us, we have been challenged to change our thinking and being and live a life that we never imagined possible. But we have done it magnificently!
State Convention and International Conference had to be cancelled because of the pandemic but activities and business were conducted with organization and professionalism, and we were able to be very much a part of all that was planned.
We used Zoom to conduct our Installation of Officers and to conduct our chapter business because our members were uncomfortable meeting in person. Thanks to Cindy Reynolds for hosting the session, our first meeting was new for some of you, exciting, and interesting. We had half of our membership joining us for that! I'm thankful we have this option to conduct our meetings in the future if we decide to use it.
There is so much more I wish to share so please check our wonderful website for future comments. Please know that we will have a great biennium, no matter what is happening. I look forward to seeing you in person or virtually to renew our friendships and conduct the meeting of our society! In the meantime, please take care, be safe and stay healthy!
My Best!
Jeanette
